Virtualisation / Hosted Desktops
Our IT virtualisation and remote desktop services provide a seamless transition to a secure, scalable, and flexible infrastructure. We manage the entire migration process, helping your business reduce costs and improve efficiency. With remote working now essential, hosted desktop solutions allow your team to work safely and quickly from anywhere, offering enhanced security, agility, and greater flexibility for your business.
What is IT Virtualisation?
IT virtualisation in cloud computing allows us to virtualise your servers, storage, or other physical hardware or data centre resources, allowing them to provide numerous services such as infrastructure, software, and platforms.
It uses software to create an abstraction layer over computer hardware that allows the hardware elements of a single computer - processors, memory, storage and more - to be divided into multiple virtual computers, commonly called virtual machines (VMs). Each virtual machine runs its operating system (OS) and behaves like an independent computer, even though it runs on just a portion of the underlying computer hardware.
Historically, businesses have run most of their user software on desktops/laptops with the software installed locally. Virtualisation moves this responsibility from the end user desk to one central point. It allows for a lighter footprint but also ensures that software is deployed correctly and updated centrally on the most up-to-date equipment, always.
Our Approach to IT Virtualisation
Our Cloud solutions are flexible to meet the demands of your business. In addition, we can help you manage the migration process from start to finish, ensuring a seamless transition.
We work with you to determine whether this is the right option for your business by understanding what your business needs. This criterion is based on:
- How much management the business can or will want to do
- Scalability requirements
- Security needs
- How much feature development will be expected
TwentyFour IT Services will ensure your virtual management systems operate at optimal efficiency, proactively balancing the resource allocation needs of your virtual machines, to ensure peak performance.
What are the benefits?
- Reduced cost of ownership
- Scalability
- Reliability of access and availability
- Speed and efficiency
- High compliance
- Security
What is Desktop Hosting?
A hosted desktop is a client-user environment in which a desktop computer (also called a thick client) accesses data on a remote server using virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Hosted desktops can operate independently, running its operating system and applications, while others are managed from the server.
Cloud desktop hosting offers you the same experience as a standard desktop computer. However, your information and all the data are in the Cloud. This cloud approach gives you much more flexibility when it comes to working in terms of scalability, speed, and location, not to mention cost and budgeting.
Our Approach to Desktop Hosting
We work with you to configure what you need for your working practices. In addition, this option usually costs per user, so it reduces the need for large capital expenditure (Opex rather than Capex). Finally, we will sit with you, first to understand your business and its needs, then show you the savings you will likely make versus your current spending.
There is no need to worry about downtime. Our systems are constantly updated, with shadow systems and hardware performance closely monitored. So, it doesn’t matter when your staff are working. In addition, the connection will be available 24/7, allowing total flexibility for your business.
What are the benefits?
- Work anywhere
- Minimise costs
- Minimal downtime (if any)
- Easily scaled up or down
- Reduced capital expenditure (or removed)
- Always up-to-date
